                 Look back on our past
  • CAT 5 Cybercanes was born in September 2015 at Heritage High School, beginning with the FTC team. It was a small group of just under 20 students. Majority were freshman and sophmores with a few juniors and seniors. The founding coaches were Mrs. Callwood and Mrs. Stein. With the coaches excitement trickling down to the students, it eventually transfered to the parents and the Cat 5 family grew. Mr. Turczynski, Mr. DeBrouse, Mr. Burgos, Mr. and Mrs. Wills-Browne, Mr. Miles, and Mr. and Mrs. Greco - all parents of members in C5CC. These mentors brought skills, guidance, and, most of all, encouragement!
In our fourth year as a team, Heritage High (IN PROGRESS)
Looking ahead
  • With the new addition of Hunington students, C5CC has decided to offer robotics to them as well. All and any student will have the opportunity to join the FTC team.
  • With a good outlook this school year, Cat 5 CyberCanes is ready to take storm in competition!

Our Impact on the Community
- Every other Wednesday memebers of the C5CC team go to Marshall Elementary School and help out in the classes. The day shown above was the last day before they went on winter break all comfy in their PJs. You can see Sarah Burden and Stephanie Omondiale sititng in the back as they all got prepared to go to lunch after they made learning about math fun with some interactive games.
-We attended was Nelson Elemtery Schools STEM Knight. Members of our team assited grades k-5 and their familys get a taste so what STEM is all about. The familys got a chance to play with Ozobots and make tracks for them to run on. Along with that they saw books come to life, and made code with Osmo.
- Our most recent event was on April 9th, 2019 called Mini Canes. We invited Marshall Elementary to see the ways of STEM, which involved demoing our robot and hands on activites with making there own circuits, using computer-aided drafting (CAD) software, and coding Spheros.
